Chance that many people still do not understand the English meaning of broadband and other terms used in the internet. To overcome the problem, Virgin Media Broadband plans to establish ten Schools in the city in the UK.
Virgin Media, one of the ISPs in the UK, said that around 18% of British people not understand the term broadband while 40% claim to not understand what it is to ADSL broadband. The same research also shows that 45% of respondents did not understand the meaning dongle and 7% of them even think Blu-ray is a type of Internet connection. 40% of them also claim to not understand the meaning web browser.
CIO, on Monday (27/04/09) said that although not yet clear when akan realized, but Virgin Media ensures that the plan is to establish Broadband Schools akan they run. Jon James, executive director of broadband from Virgin Media said that one of the causes they are embarrassed to ask this is because fear is considered outdated.
